Risk-Taking
Where is the risk in my writing? People says it's worth the risk, but is it? It would be nice to adopt this phrase as my new attitude towards writing; however, the risk-taking seems unbearable at times. But if something wonderful results... maybe it is worth it. With it to have the confidence to share what I have to say. Worth it to hear that my writing wasn't half bad. Worth it. Maybe it is. Risks take work and confidence. Maybe that it to be the new purpose of writing in my life. Take risks. Step out and away from the mindset that my work is not worthwhile for others to read.

It's interesting how taking risks is sometimes the hardest thing to do. We've been conditioned to live in our comfort zones, our "happy place," and most often, that is just fine with us. Our writing is always worthwhile--it may not mean the same thing to someone else as it does to us, but it is always worthwhile. Writing is therapeutic, is necessary to get out ideas, thoughts, emotions. And sharing those ideas, thoughts and emotions with someone else--that is the risk worth taking.
