The internet is full of phenomena that are intiguing, but the one that comes to mind right now is vlogging, or for those of you who are unaware of the term, video blogging. Some of YouTube's biggest celebrities are just these sorts of people who sit in front of their webcams, rant on about a topic or a few topics that may or may not be related, and then get hundreds of thousands of favorites, views, and comments. Philip DeFranco and the Amazing Atheist are just two that come to mind immediately. Sometimes they're funny, sometimes they actually make you think, but most of the time I catch myself watching them I can't tell you why. I'm entertained for some reason that I can't explain. Even moreso, I find myself wanting to include myself in making these. I'm not sure I'd get many, if any views, but it would just be fun. The problem is I don't know what to talk about.
Until now, that is. An old friend of mine who gave up Christianity for Atheism found me on YouTube and wants to discuss religion through vlogging. I agreed, but have yet to respond yet. I either forget or just am not in the mood for it, mainly the latter really. I used to try and discuss religion with my non-Christian friends in high school, but for the vast majority of the time it just turned into heated arguments that only managed to get us riled up for awhile. No one was ever convinced of anything. Because of this, the only time I discuss religion is with fellow Christians or with someone who is genuinely interested in having their questions answered rather than finding something to argue about. The reason I agreed to do the video discussion is that my friend posted a vlog about how every Christian he encounters on YouTube is either nonresponsive to his inquiries, doesn't allow anyone to respond on their videos, or blocks him whenever he tries to question him. I want to prove to him that there are Christians out there willing to discuss religion. I just have to be careful how I approach the situation.
Help and support on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
